Photo is from the Chicago Skyway toll plaza. The plaza is roughly in the middle of the seven mile stretch that makes up the Chicago Skyway (I-90). It connects I-94 (the Dan Ryan Expressway) and the heart of Chicago on the west, with the Indiana turnpike on the east.
While waiting in line heading east into Indiana last night (and finding my $3.50) the signage on top the toll booths caught my eye. The full sign says “Chicago Skyway Toll Bridge”, but I love capturing city names so just “Chicago” caught my eye in this shot.
Of note, when heading west on the Skyway look off to the right when up-top the High Bridge. You’ll see some great shots of the downtown Chicago skyline.
That’s a great shot of Chicago signage. There’s something about the typography used there that says “Chicago”. I really like it.
Thanks Jeff! Love seeing it, that means it’s Windy City time. Thought Chicago Theater for a second when I saw this. ๐
