Photo of the Week: Road Trip = Waffle House.

Was about to hit the open road. Needed breakfast and Vitamin C before a long day of travels. Time to hit-up Waffle House! On the trek between Detroit and Atlanta, found one in Ohio. Who are we kidding, heading south from this point on you’ll see one, sometimes two at every exit on I-75. πŸ™‚

On this day went with sunny-side up eggs and hash browns, chunked (diced ham) and smothered (onions). Perfect, ready for the rest of the day.

Waffle House - breakfast before road trip

What do you do for breakfast before a long day on the road? What do you put in your hash browns at Waffle House? Any fond Waffle House memories?

  1. Big mistake looking at your entry here right as I am waiting to eat lunch… πŸ™‚ I indulged on Saturday after a 3-hr hike. The best WH eating EVER!

    • Sorry about that. Found myself craving it more the more I looked at the photo. I look forward to indulging soon. Lot’s of great eats for you the other day! πŸ™‚

  2. Sometimes there’s nothing better than a breakfast at a diner or waffle house, especially during a roadtrip. As for hash browns – just give me ketchup with them!

    • Most definitely. You see one Waffle House after another on road trips. It’s sometimes though great finding the random diner. I like lots of different things in my hash browns, but it’s never complete without ketchup! πŸ™‚

  3. Gosh dang! I love a Waffle House! When I lived in Atlanta, I lived next door to one. It was the first time I’d ever seen it and I was addicted. Now I have one about a mile from my house and have yet to try it again. Perhaps I will now that I see what I’m missing.

    • Could have named the post Waffle House = Atlanta, since that’s their headquarters. Been to countless ones down there. Only a mile away, lucky. Let me know what you get when you make it back. πŸ™‚

  4. Having gone to school at the University of Tennessee, I am well acquainted with good ole Waffle House. It has been awhile since I have indulged. Look forward to my next trip south. Shoney’s is another southern greasy spoon favorite.

    • Shoney’s. Seen those. Need to check one out sometime. Lot’s of Waffle House opportunities in Tennessee yum. Huddle House’s everywhere too!
