Marina Green in San Francisco is a narrow strip of very green grass with Marina Boulevard running along its south end and San Francisco Bay its north. You’ll find people walking their dogs, flying kites, working out and running and just relaxing on the grass. Just off camera to the left it looked like they were having an ad hoc pull up contest. I decided not to take part and to take a nap haha. ๐
The scenery is unmatched with old historic homes, marina boats, Alcatraz, points opposite the bay and the Golden Gate Bridge all in view.
I love that area of SF! Last time I was there, I went to a farmers’ market at the fort and the walked west along the water. It was so relaxing! And just look at that sky in your photo… Lovely.
I was there late in the day, during the week so missed the market, rats. It was nice though being along the water and seeing the Golden Gate Bridge or at least part of it, it was really foggy to the west. The sky above the park though was beautiful indeed. So was seeing all the residents just hanging out. ๐
Great photo of it! I love that area of San Francisco because it’s such a rare occurrence to find a stretch of grass like that in such a big city.
Thank you! The name is definitely fitting, lots of green and in great condition. I agree with ya on the rarity.
