Atlanta: My Go-To Pizza Joint.

Whether bar hopping in Virginia Highlands or Little Five Points, running in Piedmont Park, driving around randomly (that’d be so unlike me haha) or just running errands, I’m always up for pizza. My go-to pizza joint in the ATL is Fellini’s.

They have several locations in the area, the one I most frequent is on Ponce De Leon in the Poncey-Highland neighborhood.

I always order by the slice. On my most recent visit I went with two slices of the Fellini’s special. Pepperoni, mushrooms, italian sausage, onions, meatballs, green peppers, black and green olives and lots of cheese!

I love going custom and random too. On another visit went with ham, sausage, tomatoes and onions. The toppings on their big slices are always large, tasty and fresh. You can get New York or Sicilian style pizza.

The Poncey-Highland location has a large outside patio with a water fountain and partial views of the skyline.

I’ve always had great service and you get your pizza fast, even if custom-made.

It’s a great place to go for lunch or to chill with a beer and friends in the evening as they stay open late. They have beer on tap! If you’re a foodie and love pizza, make sure to checkout Fellini’s Pizza next time you swing by the ATL.

What pizza places have you come across in your travels and at home that have become your go-to’s?

  1. I have to tell you one thing: besides NY-style pizza and Chicago’s deep dish (two totally different creations, btw), I find it hard to enjoy pizza in the US. I am spoiled by Italy and Europe in general and feel that American thin crust just has too much oil and seasoning. Just ask Mr. JA about my tantrums… ๐Ÿ˜‰ But I find myself constantly hoping that I will come across something that will blow me away. The place you describe has this cute/cozy, but no-frills decor, and reminds me of some places in Florence. Well, I might just have to try it when in ATL. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • NY and Chicago style, definitely two different animals. Craving Chicago-style now haha ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t really compare but I agree with the oil and the seasoning some places pour on. No seasonings or just some garlic is usually the way I go. I have had that cozy, relaxing feeling when I’ve been there. Just a great place to hangout! Hope you can get there sometime. ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I pretty much love all types of pizza from Chicago deep dish to frozen pizza. I have pizza that I prefer, but when it comes down to it, I am not all that picky. This place looks great and if they have beer on tap, so much the better.

  3. I haven’t been to Fellini’s in years, but I think it will get a visit when we are back in the ATL this July.

    • Hope so! Good times when I was there the other day. The Ponce De Leon location is my favorite because of it’s location. Can capture part of the skyline too from.

  4. You’re going to make me cry! Can’t tell you how much I miss Fellini’s pizza! There’s nothing like this in Germany.

    • I miss it as well when I’m not around. Great pizza and toppings, drink, atmosphere and usually lots of laughs with friends and loved ones. Hope you make it that way down the road! ๐Ÿ™‚
