The year in coffee, #ElCafeDe2013, brought me back to what is fast becoming a favorite spot, 45 South Cafe in historic downtown Norcross, Georgia.
It definitely is a cool gathering place and…
…it gives off a small-town atmosphere.
You can also sit outside on a screened in patio.
You’ll find a full schedule of live music and entertainment in the evenings. The visit today was early and for coffee (of course) and their homemade breakfast Later in the day they offer a selection of beer and wine as well.
It’s white chocolate mocha time!
On a previous visit the drink of choice was a large latte which definitely hit the spot.
Another coffeeshop/cafe, another cream/sugar station to check out.
It’s not just the coffee (caffeine) that gets me coming back, but the aforementioned homemade breakfast as well. Checkout the Fast 45 Breakfast. Scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, a biscuit and grits.
You actually have a choice of grits or home fried potatoes. I wound up saying both and doing a taste test of sorts. Which would you prefer?
Based on what I ordered on my most recent stop there, you can guess my answer. ๐ I did the Build A Breakfast getting home fried potatoes, sunny-side up eggs and a biscuit. Delicious! The customer service is always friendly and attentive.
I’ll definitely be back to this gem for coffee and breakfast when in the area. You throw great breakfast on top of great coffee. Perfect!
What are your go-to coffee and/or breakfast places that you’ve come across in your travels or at home?
You can follow my #ElCafeDe2013 adventures on Twitter and right here on my blog. Hope to see you caffeinated out on the open road!
The home fries *do* look better than the grits – no disrespect to grits ๐
Do love their home fries. Would choose them over lots of different things, not just grits. ๐
That neon sign is very cool! And I’d totally go for that breakfast plate with fried potatoes and a biscuit, hmm…
I did love that neon sign. Get extra potatoes a lot at breakfast to go along with a coffee! No way they would lose a contest with grits haha. ๐
In my occasional travels to Atlanta I’ve never been to Norcross. Looks like a good coffee spot. I don’t frequent coffee shops as much as my wife does. She loves to visit them to write. But she has a few favorites at home in Memphis: Bluff City Coffee downtown in the South Main Historic Arts District and Otherlands in Midtown near Cooper-Young.
I do a lot of writing from coffee shops too. Will have to checkout those spots if ever in Memphis. Thank you for sharing!
Those home fried potatoes look yum, I’d have them any day! ๐
They were very good. Always a must when I’m ordering there. Love potatoes! ๐
Four of my favorite things at one place: coffee, breakfast, beer, and live music. You can’t go wrong with just one of these aspects.
Definitely not. ๐ Usually there too early for beer and the music. Will need to change that soon! ๐
Wow! You’re on a roll Aaron.
That coffee place looks great and the white chocolate mocha just made me drool…same goes for the breakfast ๐
I don’t have one favorite coffee shop as each one has something different but I do love Starbucks & our own Canadian Coffee shop chains like Second Cup, which I hope you will try when I see you in Toronto during TBEX. Their hot chocolate with whipped cream is legendary and moka too ๐
Thanks Karla! I work from a few different Starbucks a lot, because of convenience. Get lots of Starbucks gift cards too haha. Did try the new Hazelnut Macchiato the other day, was tasty. Second Cup, sounds like a plan!
Yay!
Can’t wait ๐
