If you ever have a Delta flight, connection out of the McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport, make sure to check out the colorful Light Tunnel that connects the main Concourse A, with Concourses B and C.
You’ll see several colors flash in sequence behind countless sculpted glass panels in the tunnel. The flashing of the lights coincides with Victor Alexeeff music. It’s an interesting experience to say the least.
Waiting for a flight I decided to walk down the escalator from Concourse A to capture the different colors that flash.
What unique exhibits and things have you come across at airports that you’d recommend stopping a few minutes for?
Chicago O’Hare has a cool light/music display in its underground (I think!) moving walkway section too.
Will have to look for that. When I’ve been at O’Hare in the past it’s usually running to catch a connecting flight haha. π
Those lights are cool. Wellington Airport still has a huge Gollum (and some fish) suspended from the ceiling.
Definitely makes the walk between terminals more interesting. Have heard about Wellington airport recently and seen some pics too. Lot’s of Hobbit fun there! π
Very unique!
Between the lights and music, definitely a different experience heading to a flight. π
