#ElCafeDe2013 Coffee tip of the week: Drink it Straight!

I’m going to get straight to the point with this one. πŸ™‚

Tip #9: If you’re experiencing the brew at a non-chain coffee shop for the first time, drink it straight.

Now’s not the time to add creamer, sugar, honey or anything else. Future visits can include those. Future visits can include lattes. On initial stops to The Great Lakes Coffee Roasting Company I experienced their Drip Coffee…

…and Rwandan Rulindo Pour Over.

Just take in the steam from the hot coffee and experience its flavor. In the case of the pour over, the barista went through the trouble of making it individually for me. I didn’t want to ruin their creation.

Note: Iced coffee won’t satisfy in regards to this tip. If you do get an iced coffee though, drink it up fast, before the ice cubes start to melt and dilute the coffee. Hey anything counts haha! πŸ™‚

  1. A friend of mine whenever he gets asked if he wants anything in his coffee always says, “What, and ruin it?” Always loved that.

    • Yes, especially when trying an independent coffee shop and/or bean for the first time. Want to experience the true flavor. If I’m on the go or going to a place that is known for their specialty drinks, I will try one. πŸ™‚
