I guess that’s why it’s such a difficult city to get in and out of via roads, or at least that’s what it seems like I’ve heard.
Juneau is part of the mainland but your right it’s not connected. Ferry or plane is the only way to get there. The main road which runs north and south of Juneau is only 44 miles long. The isolation is even more amazing because if you go a few miles to the east of there, into the mountains, you are in British Columbia and Canada.
