Once a season I make my way on to Belle Isle Park in Detroit, Michigan. It’s an island park that sits in the middle of the Detroit River. I always head to the southwestern tip of the island to capture two cities, two skylines and two countries. Windsor, Ontario, Canada is on the left, Detroit, Michigan, United States is on the right.
I’ve posted about this place before, but this is the first time I’m doing so Live and in the moment. I’m out on the snowy path to two countries in the cold, wind and snow. ๐ Beautiful.
I’ve been to Detroit (I live an hour away) but never been to Belle Isle. Is that just a park? Are there things you can do even in winter? It does look beautiful seeing two countries separated by a river and all that snow.
It is. It was a city park until recently, now a Michigan state park. There is a marina, aquarium and lots of places to walk around in the warmer months. There are auto races and other events there in the summer. The winter months Im not sure of other then checking out the scenery. I have a thing for skylines so I love it there! ๐
I’m definitely gonna check it out in spring! Thanks and keep on blogging about Michigan cities!
Will do! Cool, let me know how you like.
Stunning Photography!!!
Thank you! It’s a great spot and winter and the snow does help make for beautiful shots. ๐
Very pretty! I was in that area on the same day – cool!
Thank you! Was a beautiful day right before the big storm hit. ๐
Winter is the time to go as it is prettier and less people. Nice shots.
Thanks! Definitely agree on the people thing. Might not be a fan of driving in winter, but walking! ๐
Love these pix! My favorite is the first one.
Thanks! Do love capturing other things like trees in skyline shots.
