This weeks #FriFotos theme on Twitter is Urban. When I think urban, I immediately think big city. When I think big city, the first thing that comes to mind is the skyline. From up the hills, across the water, straight on from across town or up in the air I’m always looking to capture a tall cluster of buildings. Some of my favorites are below.

The Toronto Skyline standing tall from Centre Island at dusk.

The Toledo, Ohio skyline sits across the Maumee River at dusk.

Heading towards the Tampa skyline during a helicopter tour.

Capturing the Sydney, Australia skyline from along Sydney Cove.

On a tour bus approaching the Seattle skyline.

San Francisco skyline from up-top Coit Tower.

San Diego skyline from across the way on Coronado Island.

Pittsburgh skyline from up-top the Duquesne Incline.

Phoenix, Arizona skyline from up in the friendly skies.

The Niagara River flowing towards the Niagara Falls skyline.

Two skylines in one. Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, Canada from Belle Isle.

Detroit skyline from across the Detroit River in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Columbus, Ohio skyline from the Rich Street Bridge.

The Cleveland skyline and Lake Erie from Edgewater Park.

Cincinnati skyline from Devou Park in Covington, Kentucky.

Chicago skyline from up-top Willis Tower.

Auckland, New Zealand skyline from up-top Mount Eden.

The Midtown Atlanta skyline sits straight ahead from Sun Dial.
What has been your favorite city skyline to capture so far in your travels?

Nice photos. I love Bangkok’s skyline
So far, Chicago is one of my favorites!
Good choice. There are so many great places to capture in from, especially along and on Lake Michigan.
Love a good cityscape – don’t think anything beats NYC though – its just son inspiring
NYC is one I’ve yet to see up close. On my bucket list!
Oh it’s transfixing… That Sydney harbour and actually Hong Kong
Never been to Hong Kong but definitely agree with Sydney Harbour. π Just find myself staring and soaking in the views when I see scenes like they have there.
Amen to that my friend
Fun to see all the cityscapes all together in one place!
Thanks so much! Was fun to put together. Makes me want to see a new skyline soon! π

Thank you so much! Chicago is one my favorite cities anywhere. So much to see and do and a great skyline view everywhere you look. π
It really is a great city! I love it here and I know why visitors to our city want to come back time and time again! Yes, there is so much to see and do! Cher xo
I’ve always loved that Toronto skyline from the islands. So distinctive & sharp against the skyline. Surfer’s Paradise in Queensland, Australia has a stunning skyline especially on a helicopter fly past. Love Sydney’s skyline too. Cape Town with the dominance of Table Mountain is another favourite.
Do like Sydney’s skyline from the harbor, hope to get back there sometime to capture from other places/angles. Love the look of the Toronto skyline from wherever at. π Amazing the number of highrises being built there, one after another it seems.
Myβ¦you do get around. π
I try to haha. Gotta love travel and seeing new things! π
