Having to be in Brighton, Michigan right in the middle of a winter storm (Mateo) randomly gave me the idea to capture the snowy scene the only way I know how.
I walked and laid down on Main Street and nearby Huron Meadows Metro Park and Hammel Road. There was ample white to capture without a sole around. I wanted to get out on the open roads before it was disturbed with salt, plows and lots of vehicle traffic.
This post was put together right in the moment as I captured some Pure Michigan winter beauty. Well without further ado.
Tip: I recommend capturing Hammel Road, a dirt road just outside Brighton, no matter the season. Fall and winter though take this spot to an even greater level.
Again to the Michigan beauty that winter and snow can bring. Cheers!
Has there been a scene you randomly decided to capture right as a winter or other type of storm was happening?
Being from Michigan myself (based just outside of Detroit) I can confirm that these photos look just like Michigan. Home. ๐
We got dumped on yesterday here in the mitten! Got to love the winter and snow scenes that Michigan produces each year. Glad to hear from a fellow Michigander. ๐ I’m based not too far from the Detroit area.
Yeah I arrived from Argentina to Detroit a day before the snow dump ๐ It was Michiganโs way if welcoming me back. Of course.
Oh our course. ๐ฆ It’s been snowing a little bit every day recently. Looks like will end this weekend finally. Hope have chance to venture some where warm again soon. Will check out your blog and travels. ๐
Thanks man. I look forward to doing the same ๐
Nature photos are beautiful and they are like in Finland. ๐
Happy weekend.
Thank you! They most certainly are. Love nature no matter the season/weather. Can imagine the wintry scenes you have a chance to capture in Finland, having seen lots of pictures from there. ๐ Cheers!
Bet you got even more than we did in Indiana yesterday. ๐
We did from I can tell from tuning into the Weather Channel. Amazing how narrow the band of snow was. Less than an hour south from me across the state line in Ohio, they got nothing. Can’t argue with all the beautiul scenes it creates though. ๐ Must look pretty in your neck of the woods as well.
Yes, very pretty! ๐
Love the first shot of downtown. Really looks like a winter wonderland.
Thank you Steven! It definitely was that morning. It was basicallly just me and the snow. Cheers!
I miss lots of things about the Midwest, but winter for sure isn’t one of them! Haha! But I do like looking at your frozen pics. MI towns are so cute!
Haha! The driving has not been pleasant to put it mildly. Seeing some of the scenes of winter though makes it worth it. Love Michigan small towns too, especially all the beach ones along Lake Michigan. ๐
Thanks for the follow, Aaron! You sound like a kindred spirit indeed.
Awwwe thank you! No problem. Look forward to following your folowing your posts. Thanks for coming to check out my blog as well. Cheers! ๐
