Photo(s) of the Week: An Outside Airport Shot, Phoenix style.

I’ve had lots of layover time at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in Arizona over time. On my last few stops to Phoenix I’ve managed to capture the scene outside the airport. You know you’re in a great place when you can see mountains.

There’s a storm a-brewin.

It’s not every airport where you can catch an open shot of a city’s skyline.

Where have you caught a scenic outside view when at the airport?

Photo of the Week: A Vegas Layover Leads to a Skyline.

A short layover recently at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas, Nevada turned into an all day stay due to mechanical issues. I took advantage by walking to another terminal and grabbing this shot of the Las Vegas skyline and strip. The delay definitely wasn’t all bad. 🙂

#ElCafeDe2013 Coffee tip of the week: Take Advantage…

Tip #19: Take advantage of your chance to visit somewhere…

…whether it be a non-chain coffee shop or somewhere else, especially if it’s unexpected. You never know when you’ll have that chance again.

I was supposed to have a routine, quick layover in Las Vegas this week. Due to some mechanical problems though it turned into an all day affair. While waiting at McCarran International Airport, I played the slots (to no success haha) and captured pictures of the strip and mountains from various points.

It was also the unexpected opportunity to checkout the local coffee scene. Just randomly walking around I came across The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Las Vegas.

They have several locations throughout the Las Vegas Valley including one in Terminal C. I grabbed an Iced Latte Coffee.

The layover was not fun, but I “took advantage” by having something I love, coffee. I would have been disappointed in myself if I hadn’t stopped.

A Colorful Tunnel at Detroit’s Metro Airport.

If you ever have a Delta flight, connection out of the McNamara Terminal at Detroit Metro Airport, make sure to check out the colorful Light Tunnel that connects the main Concourse A, with Concourses B and C.

You’ll see several colors flash in sequence behind countless sculpted glass panels in the tunnel. The flashing of the lights coincides with Victor Alexeeff music. It’s an interesting experience to say the least.

Waiting for a flight I decided to walk down the escalator from Concourse A to capture the different colors that flash.
