Taking in Another Field of Michigan Sunflowers

The calendar has flipped to August in Michigan, the days are starting to get shorter and we are on the back half of summer. That must mean it’s sunflower season! 🌻🌻🌻 This season brought me to Fowlerville in Livingston County and the sunflower field at Munsell Farms. Sunflowers galore!

You will find this sunflower field and Munsell Farms off W. Mason Rd. just east of Fowlerville Rd. It’s just a few miles off of Exit 129 on I-96 to the south.

I parked alongside Mason to grab a few shots without going into the field itself. Like with my previous sunflower adventures, I choose to check them out early in the day against the early morning light.

From my experience Michigan sunflowers don’t stay fully bloomed for long. If it’s late summer get out there as soon as you have the chance. 🌻🌻🌻

Another sunflower excursion is in the books. So beautiful to see up close as always. I would contact Munsell Farms directly to inquire about grabbing a few shots from within the field itself. You can find them on Facebook.

UPDATE: The sunflower field below is not in bloom in 2018. Checkout my newest post from August 2018 about another sunflower field option in the area, Munsell Farms in Fowlerville -> Taking in Another Field of Michigan Sunflowers 🌻🌻🌻

We are on the backside of the summer season here in Michigan and the Midwest. That meant when I was out on the open road this week, I came across a field of Pure Michigan sunflowers as far as the eye can see.

I got as close to the never-ending field in Whitmore Lake, just outside Ann Arbor, as I could without going in. The early morning light just beamed off the sunflowers that were as tall as me. All of the bright blue sky served as the perfect backdrop. Dawn is my recommended time to experience sunflowers.

With sunflowers usually come some bees, but I was lucky enough only to see a few. Can you spot the one below? πŸ™‚

You will find this field on the northwest corner of North Territorial and Whitmore Lake roads. I parked alongside Whitmore Lake road watching the morning dew soak my jeans and shoes. It was well worth it to see the summertime beauty that is sunflowers. I will let the rest of the pictures do the talking.

From my experience sunflowers don’t seem to stay in full bloom for very long. I was so happy that I drove through this intersection this week. πŸ™‚
