A Sunrise and Beginning to Another Pure Michigan Autumn

As I write this Autumn has officially arrived (September 21st at 10:21 a.m. EST) here in Michigan and the Midwest. With that the days are really starting to get shorter and the sun is rising a little bit later each day. On the plus side, it is getting easier for me to capture the sunrise after I leave the homestead in the morning.

I took advantage working my way over to the campground at Brighton State Recreation Area and Bishop Lake. The photos below are what stood right in front of me as I got out of the car and started facing east. The sun was reflecting off Bishop Lake, with lots of morning fog and mist rising off the same water. The air had a crisp feel to it.

To the beginnings of another beautiful Pure Michigan Autumn!

Finding that Pure Michigan Sunrise Spot.

Dawn was fast approaching along the Lake Huron coastline in Michigan. I was out on the open road in the wee hours of the morning looking for a place to capture the sunrise over the waters of the second biggest Great Lake. Driving along Heritage Route U.S. 23 between Au Gres and Tawas City, I randomly spotted the Singing Bridge Public Access Point. With not a soul around, I parked, walked a few steps and below is what I saw.

I can now see why the Lake Huron coastline in this part of Michigan is known as the Sunrise Coast. Beautiful colors and scenes await those who live or travel along here every day. In fact, I went back to the same spot on another road trip to experience the romantic scenery all over again. 🙂 Gotta love random finds!

Where have you captured a sunrise around home or in your travels that you’d like to go back to over-and-over again?

Photo of the Week: A Sunrise from the Friendly Skies.

When up in the friendly skies what could better than a colorful sunrise?! Your traveling and a new day is starting full of possibilities. 🙂 This shot was over Georgia just before descending into Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Photo of the Week: An Alaskan Sunrise at Sea.

Moving along the Gulf of Alaska in the early morning hours while on an Alaskan Cruise, I stared off towards the Alaskan Panhandle to watch the sunrise and the dawn of a another travel day. So peaceful. 🙂
