Photo of the Week: Out on the Open Path to Sydney Harbour Bridge.

The view when your out on the open path heading towards the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You’ll see lots of ferries coming and going as your walking alongside the west end of Sydney Cove in Australia. A romantic park bench to be sure sits empty waiting for someone sit down. Hmmm. πŸ™‚

Photo of the Week: It’s the Skyline that Gets Me, Sydney.

The skyline of Sydney, Australia stares right back at me from the walkway along the east side of Sydney Cove. You have the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Sydney Cove itself all within view, but it’s the skyline that gets me every time! πŸ™‚

Sydney Opera House During a Walk.

Sydney, Australia. When people think Sydney one of the first things they think of is the Opera House. It’s an iconic building built-in 1973 and visited by people from all over the world. It’s aΒ UNESCOΒ World Heritage SiteΒ and hosts more than 1,500 performances of the arts every year.

During the one day layover I had last year, I walked along Circular Quay, Sydney and Farm Cove and wherever I looked, there was a photo to capture of the Opera House.

Shot from Mrs. Macquaries Point, a romantic spot opposite the Farm Cove where many shots of the Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge can be captured together.

Walking along the east side of Sydney Cove, looking out towards the harbour, you’ll find more great shots of the bridge and Opera House together.

The Opera House and all of Sydney is great to see and capture up-close. I need to have a longer stay there next time. What places would you recommend capturing photos of the Opera House from? Of Sydney itself?

Photo of the Week: An Iced Chocolate in Sydney.

Sydney, Australia - Iced Chocolate

Spending time in Australia and New Zealand I’ve become hooked on iced chocolates. The one pictured above is from Sydney Cove Oyster Bar. Dining outside right in the heart of the city, your right by the Sydney Opera House and you have amazing views of the cove and Sydney Harbour Bridge. Chocolate and great scenery, what could be better?!

I’ve had iced chocolate drinks at various locales that were blended together to look like a milkshake, one solid color. What I like about this is you can taste each ingredient individually and together and it makes for a much better presentation.

What’s in an iced chocolate? Usually a combination of ice cream, milk, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and ice. You’ll find it offered everywhere in Australia and New Zealand, so there will be a lot more deliciousness in the future. Have you had an iced chocolate? If so where? Any secret home-made recipes you’re willing to share? πŸ™‚
